"AUDIO DRAMA: 10 Plays for Radio and Podcast"

There’s no other book quite like this. It’s been produced for two types of reader.
First, it’s for the vast and growing audience for audio drama, both in the traditional form of radio plays and in the rapidly expanding world of the podcast. If you love audio drama, this book gives you the chance to see how 10 literary classics were dramatized for radio, and to recreate the performances for yourself as you read.
Secondly, it’s meant for the increasing numbers of podcast producers, especially those interested in producing audio drama for their followers. Here are 10 audio drama scripts – raw material for you to start exercising your imagination and technical skills on. They are provided to you with no strings attached. The works on which they are based are classics and in the public domain. The audio dramatizations – all of which have been, or will be, produced and broadcast either in Britain or across the USA – are offered to you to re-interpret just as you wish.

"MORE AUDIO DRAMA: 10 More Plays for Radio and Podcast"

Re-published 28 February 2023, as
"AUDIO DRAMA 2: 10 More Plays for Radio and Podcast"

I return with 10 more plays for radio and podcast. Back in 2019 I published my first collection of ten radio plays, Audio Drama. They have been so welcomed that I decided to make another ten available. Here they are – 10 more of my plays for radio and podcast, all of which have been produced and broadcast. As in my first book, these scripts are offered to podcast producers with no strings attached. The books on which they are based are all literary classics in the public domain. No performance rights are required.
Whether you are a podcast producer seeking fully realized audio drama scripts, or one of the worldwide listening audience who love radio drama with its power to create images in the mind’s eye, More Audio Drama is a book to treasure and enjoy.

JOURNALISM AND BOOKS

In addition, I have been commenting on Middle East politics for some thirty years. I have been published in a variety of journals and on line, and for some time ran the column "Edmund Owen's Israel".

ONE MAN'S ISRAEL, published in 2008, was a collection of these pieces, together with some poetry, letters, short stories and a radio drama.

ONE YEAR IN THE HISTORY OF ISRAEL AND PALESTINE, published in June 2011, was a blow-by-blow account of the events of 2010 as they impacted on the effort to resolve the Israel-Palestine situation. The book, which starts on 1 January 2010 and ends on 31 December, traces the progress of efforts to bring Israelis and Palestinians to the negotiating table, recording the hopes and the setbacks as they occurred.

THE SEARCH FOR DÉTENTE: Israel and Palestine 2012-2014 (published in October 2014) - an account of the renewed effort by the Obama administration, led by US Secretary of State John Kerry, to broker a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.

THE CHAOS IN THE MIDDLE EAST: 2014-2016 was published in August 2016. In it I aimed to provide an up-to-date overview of the problems currently affecting the Middle East, and set them in context. By providing an account of the bewilderingly complicated events of those two years and also explaining their background, I tried to give readers the tools to understand the complex problems emanating from the Middle East - issues of concern to the whole world.

TRUMP  AND THE HOLY LAND: 2016-2020.  The Deal of the Century
"I would love to be the one who made peace with Israel and the Palestinians," said Donald Trump as he became US President in 2017.  "That would be such a great achievement."  TRUMP AND THE HOLY LAND is the history of that effort.  It traces the development of what he called the "deal of the century" from its inception to its final unveiling on 28 January 2020.  Published in August 2020.
